Our FY22 Greenhouse Gas Emissions Result
Our FY22 total Scope 1-3 CO2e emissions are up 8% on FY21 and down 41% on base year FY20.
We are still on track to meeting our FY25 target of a 25% reduction in our overall emissions, supporting limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius below pre industrial temperatures.
The 8% increase this year is due to the growth in staffing of Oxygen Consulting as well as increased business activity resuming post Covid, contributing to increased staff commuting.
Increases were somewhat offset by the move to our new office, which reduced our annual electricity usage. No air travel continued to maintain reductions in associated emissions.
Although there was a 24% reduction in work from home days, the associated emissions decreased by 63% due to a change in MFE's emissions factor guidance this year.
In line with GHG Protocol guidance, electricity associated with BEV usage has been captured in Scope 2 emissions, with FY21 also restated (where it was previously reported in Scope 1).
We are climate positive, having offset 3 Tonnes of CO2e, equating to 136% of our total Scope 1-3 emissions, with the purchase of 3 certified Gold Standard Voluntary Emissions Reductions (VERs).
